The Taruarau River supports an amazing number of rainbow trout and the action can be fast and furious. Fishing is to sighted fish most of whom like nothing more than to slurp a large dry fly off the surface on a hot summer’s day.

The fishing season in the Taruarau river is from 1 October to 30 June.

Add in the intimate experience of fishing some of Ngamatea’s smaller streams and you will see why it would take you a month before you had to fish the same water twice! This enables you to enjoy a quality fishing experience to match the amazing surroundings.
